Surprise! Erin Hunter is actually a pen name for a team of three women who, together, make the Warriors' world come to life!
Cherith Baldry, Victoria Holmes, and Kate Cary (from left to right) are the three women that make the Warriors' world what it is. Together, they write the story. Kate and Cherith take turns writing books, while Victoria oversees them both and publishes the books. In an interview done by Kathleen Bolton, Cherith and Kate share their literary influences. Cherith was mostly inspired by C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien, while Kate went through a "Nancy Drew phase" and was inspired by K. M. Peyton. The world of Warriors was originally Victoria's idea, and with Kate and Cherith's help, that idea was made into reality. Kate, Cherith, and Victoria encourage writers who want to write children's literature to persue their dreams. Cherith recommends writing a wide range of children's literature and getting to know what children like. Kate suggests writing what you're good at and doing plenty of reasearch, while Victoria recommends reading all the children's books in your local library.
